"One method of finding a solution to a puzzle in which the digits one to nine have to be arranged in a particular formation is by trying every different permutation. This strategy however is very time consuming. Even if it only took one second to arrange the numbers and check whether a solution has been found, you would need to allow over one hundred hours to complete the task!
Developing a strategy with some insight or consideration of the number patterns might be a better course of action.
Use the tags to record which numbers cannot possibly go into certain spaces. For example the nine could not possibly go into the yellow spaces of the addition column as any other number added to the nine would give a two digit answer but the answer should be one digit number.
The one cannot possibly go into the multiplication calculation as any number multiplied by one would equal that same number and you only have one copy of each number to put into the spaces.
A prime number cannot go into the space at the top of the division calculation. There are many more such restrictions that you can record by clicking on the tags which will help you solve this wonderful puzzle. "
