So we all got into the back of the pick up truck which serves as a bus. This took us
to the end of the road where we caught the number 8 bus into the centre of Bangkok |

Our first stop was Wat Po where we saw the famous reclining Buddha. Even though we
knew it would be big ... when we saw it we realised just how huge it really was. |

On Sunday the Wat was a Sunday School. Children and adults attended lessons delivered
by the monks |
|
Thai massage is well known the world over. Even the statues here enjoyed a good
massage. |
|
If you don't have much time there's nothing like a quick 10 minute massage standing
up! |
|
So the fastest transport in Bangkok must be the long boats that speed you down the
river faster than a fast taxi...(not for the feint hearted!) |

And so to the Shangri La Hotel for the afternoon tea dance with the Bangkok Symphony
Orchestra.... |

... so much posh food ... one doesn't know whether to use ones' fork or ones'
spoon.... |

.... and the watermelon flowers so beautifully made.... I'm sure would win a prize at
the Bushbury flower show! |
