The band stopped recording as a unit after Revolution in 2001. Mukhtar never stopped.
Still recording
Mukhtar Sahota
Of the five brothers, Mukhtar is the one still releasing records — now as a composer and producer rather than a band member.
He set up his own label, Internalmusic, in 2006, and has put out a steady run of singles and albums ever since, working with Punjabi and Pakistani vocalists including the Wadali Brothers, Arif Lohar, Surjit Khan and Debi Makhsoospuri. Alongside that he has written and produced for Bollywood and Punjabi cinema, including two films scored by A R Rahman — who had already arranged the strings on Mukhtar’s Donasian charity single back in 2005.

The Other Brothers
The band never formally announced an ending. Revolution, put together for the Indian and Pakistani markets in 2001, turned out to be the last Sahotas record, and the brothers went their separate ways from there.
Surjit came back to the industry in 2014 with two solo singles, “Holi Holi” and “Tu Mil Gayi”, playing them live on Noreen Khan’s show on the BBC Asian Network. He has also worked with B21, Urban Tribe and Basil Gabbidon of Steel Pulse.
