Diary for December

1st December

The Christmas month. The last month of the millennium. The beginning of winter... but all that seems very far away at the moment as I sit out on the roof, watching the sun set as the cooler evening air causes the pages of my open book to gently flutter. I can just about hear young Master Earls next door practising "Unmistakable you" on the piano as the sound of children playing in the distance adds to the relaxed summery feel. 24 shopping days to Christmas!

2nd December

Interesting day today. At lunchtime one year 8 class had set up an amusement arcade in their classroom to raise money for charity. They had one of those dance machines I mentioned in the October diary. I challenged our pupil superstar Anan to a dance competition. The machine scored my effort as an "E" while Anan scored an easy "A". I suppose I should stick to the maths books!

This evening I'm off back to school to see the "Millennium Spectacular" concert. Should be good.

7th December

Received another misdirected email:

Good Morning to All.  Frost on the pumpkins this morning in N.S.B.  At least it gets us in the mood for Xmas.  Sandy, hope you are feeling better. How is your rash Jeremy ?  This is so cool to be doing this !  Tim, got the job.  We are both  happy about it.  He starts Dec. 17th .  Works Fri.- Mon. 8:30 -6:30 10 Hr Days.  Has Tue.-Thur. off.  No more 4:00 mornings!
Merry Xmas!!  Bye for now

Well I hope Jeremy's rash is getting better too!

8th December

The Sahotas are off to India!

We are flying out to India next week Friday on the 10th to record the video for "Gal Bangae" in Mumbai, we are staying there for about 10 days, it may be extended. The boy's are looking forward to going, getting away from this
freezing cold country.

9th December

There's not much evidence of Christmas around this area so I think I've overcompensated. Each morning we have a Christmas story (funny) read out in registration.. I found some great ones at:

http://www.night.net/christmas/poems12.html-ssi

Also I've bought a Xmas tree, a white one, to create a bit of a Christmas atmosphere in the house.

10th December

Saw the Lights put up for the King's Birthday celebrations. Increadible. Like Blackpool with double vision. Then saw the latest Jame Bond film ... very good ... but I'd have been just as happy if it had of finished half an hour earlier.

11th December

Really getting into the Christmas spirit now. Lights on the tree and Heart FM playing live throughout the house from the internet. Lots of Christmassy tunes and adverts ... even though they do keep saying that it is seven hours earlier!
