At about 1pm the temperature stopped while everybody ate the packed lunches and apple pies they had brought with them. After lunch it was back to developing the site. At 3pm the troop was split into the young ones and the older ones. The older ones went canoeing on the Wye while the younger ones went on an exploration hike around the farm and village. Meanwhile, the canoeists got down the weir alright but found it difficult to get back up, and Matty had to get out of his canoe and walk along the bank. Those who made it up the weir were forced to capsize, which marked the end of the canoeing session but the start of the swimming session.
