A group of friends meet at 10:00 am in the Starducks coffee shop. After enjoying coffee and cakes, they agree to split the bill equally. At 11:00 am, three of the friends are called away unexpectedly before paying their share.
When the £88 bill arrives at 11:30 am, the remaining friends divide it equally between themselves. As a result, each of them pays £3 more than they would have done if the three friends had stayed. How many friends were in the group at 10:00 am?
