Check

According to Wikipedia draughts or checkers are the names given to a group of strategy board games for two players which involve diagonal moves of uniform game pieces and mandatory captures by jumping over opponent pieces. Draughts developed from alquerque. The name derives from the verb to draw or to move.

The game above is interactive. You can drag the pieces to move them. If a piece lands on a square occupied by another piece, that piece is removed from the board.

Game Rules

This is a game for two players. One player controls the red pieces and the other controls the white pieces. Players take it in turns (starting with red) to move one of their pieces one square diagonally. If their piece can diagonally hop over an opposing piece the hopped over piece is out of the game.

The objective is to take all of the opponent's pieces.

If a piece can get all the way to the ooposite side of the board it is crowned and becomes a king.

Uncrowned pieces may move only diagonally forward; kings may move in any diagonal direction. Uncrowned pieces may hop over an opponent's piece only diagonally forward; kings may hop in any diagonal direction.

Multiple hops are possible, if after one hop, another piece is immediately eligible to be taken.
