Lisa owns the DRESE clothing boutique. She purchases a dress from a supplier for $80. She wants to sell it at a 25% profit. However, she's planning a sale where all items are marked down by 20%. At what price should she label the dress so that after the discount, she still makes a 25% profit?

James is a furniture retailer who buys sofas for $600 each. He wants to offer a 25% discount during a sale but still aims for a 20% profit on the cost price. At what price should he list the sofa before the discount?

An electronics store purchases laptops from a wholesaler and marks them up by 50% for retail. During a special promotion, they offer a 20% discount on all items. If the promotional sale price of a laptop is £720 calculate the original cost of a laptop from the wholesaler.

A store buys cameras at a cost price of $500 each. They wish to make a 30% profit on the cost price but are running a promotion offering 20% off the marked price. What should be the marked price to ensure they achieve the desired profit after the discount?

A shirt is on sale for €48 after a 20% discount. The store originally marked up the price by 60% over the wholesale cost. What was the wholesale cost of the shirt?

Try your best to answer the questions above. Type your answers into the boxes provided leaving no spaces. As you work through the exercise regularly click the "check" button.
