Calculate the squares of one-digit and two-digit numbers.

The sides of a square piece of paper are each 6cm long. What is the area of the square in square centimetres?

Noreen and Doreen think of square numbers. Noreen's square number was nineteen more than Doreen's. What square number was Doreen thinking of?

A square with sides of length 17 inches is cut out of the middle of a large wooden square with sides of length 55 inches. What is the top surface area of the wooden shape remaining? Give you answer as the number of square inches.
