Sunday continued. Activity session two included site development, orienteering, Scoutcraft, canoeing and expedition work. At 5:00pm we had our evening meal, which consisted of fish fingers, peas, mashed potatoes and rice pudding.
We had two hours to cook, eat and wash up. Most of the patrols had finished by 7:00pm, but a couple of patrols were still washing up, so the team games did not start until 7:30pm. The team games were inside the hut because the weather was bad again. They lasted for about two hours and then we had flagdown, followed by a wide game called shadowing. In this game there were two teams, and one team had to get from one end of the wood to another by following a path. The other team had to catch them. If they caught someone they had to return to where they started. The game lasted about an hour. When we all got back to the hut we had supper, which was crumpets and chocolate drink, then went to bed.
Monday 29th July. The programme included breakfast, flagbreak, the third and fourth activity sessions, lunch, evening meal, flagdown, judging of patrol sites, preparing for campfire, tuck shop, campfire and supper.
At 7:30am No.1 and Bosun came around again and woke us all up, and then made breakfast of gypsy toast and jam. After breakfast we had flagbreak. Kingfisher did the flag and the other patrol duties included Gannet communications, Seagull weather, Mallard boots, Redshank stores, Cormorant toilets and Dunlin rubbish.
